Connoisseurs appreciate the soft single malts from the distillery, which is one of the few in Scotland that still operates its own malting floors. Balvenie also produces smoky whiskey which is rather untypical for the Scottish Speyside. Balvenie 30 years matured the entire time in a combination of American and European oak casks.
