2018 Côte Rôtie Bassenon Yves Cuilleron Pinot Noir (45%) and PinotGalloni 94, Deep, glistening violet. Smoke and mineral accented cherry and black raspberry scents, along with suggestions of exotic spices, violet and cracked pepper. Silky in texture and energetic on the palate, offering appealingly sweet dark berry, cherry compote and floral pastille flavors braced by a spine of juicy acidity. The spicy note returns on an impressively long, penetrating finish that shows superb clarity and smooth, polished tannins.
