Sashiko dates back to the 17th century and is a traditional Japanese folk embroidery. It is used for both decorative and functional reinforcement of fabrics. The combination of the 12oz dobby weave with the sashiko technique creates an impressively complex weave with a deep structure that is still soft and supple. The warp threads
