Conspicuous Gallantry Medal Flying GVI Navy Long Service The following countries provided troopsThe Conspicuous Gallantry Medal (Flying) GVI, founded in 1943 to recognise gallantry at level two for airmen who prior to its institution had no award between the DFM and the VC. 110 awards of this issue were made. The medal itself is exactly identical to the Navy version but is suspended by its own ribbon where the centre broad stripe is sky blue. Although a provision was made for the award of a bar to the CGM (Flying) no such award was ever made
