Found on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, this ancient specimen dates back to the Pleistocene and is thousands of years old. This specimen was on display at the Prehistoria Museum. It has been deaccessioned to raise funds for our museum renovation and operations. Being a fossil, this ~15" long specimen (with 16" tusks) predates the Marine Mammal Act and the CITES convention.
