Distinguished Service Medal GVI Service_Civilian the General Service Medal 1962-2007The DSM was expanded during World War Two to include the Merchant Navy and Army, the WRNS and RAF personnel serving aboard ships. Second award bars issued during the war do not carry the date of award on the reverse unlike those of World War One.
