Description
A ripe nose features notes of red raspberry
grainy tannins and a sleek texture
On tasting from that same bottle
This is slightly bigger and richer than the Champlots with equally good punch to the middle weight flavors that exhibit citrus and saline nuances on the persistent if not especially complex finale
though the drought in 2016 means that there is slightly less Cabernet Franc
Jean-Michel Gerin, Cote Rotie Champin Seigneur Vintage:2010 A ripe nose features notes(includes roughly 10% viognier), Bright purple. Aromas of candied dark fruits, cola and woodsmoke, with a spicy overtone. Brighter red fruits appear on the palate, which offers an array of spicy berry flavors, seamless texture and very good energy. Finishes spicy and sweet, with a late note of violet and excellent focus. Josh Raynolds
