I had the opportunity to retaste the wonderful 2015 Hermitage and have taken this opportunity to up my rating of it a couple of points
There is a modicum of light
The most mineral-driven of this year's set of Ermitage bottlings from Chapoutier
which I think remains one of his best wines to day
A slightly riper and more complex nose of very earthy and slightly sauvage dark berry fruit aromas set of by a touch of wood spice leads to dense and attractively textured medium-full flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel and I like the subtle sense of harmony as this is balanced

The attack is discreet but tannins soon kick in, while the sweet core of fruit comes to the surface thanks to fine acidity. A light touch and long, spicy finish.
